Q: Does Mustang Creek Kennels offer stud service?

A: Yes, we occasionally provide stud service when the right female comes along. We look at several factors in our evaluation of a potential female including temperament, body structure and size, over-all health, pedigree and health screenings. We will ask several questions to to help ensure the right decision is being made for the betterment of the GSP breed.

Q: How do I reserve a puppy?

A: Once our female is showing signs of the pregnancy (typically 30 days into the gestation period) we will make contact with you. By now we will have spoken on several occasions and answered each others questions and both parties will have agreed this is the right decision. You are encouraged to stay in contact with us until that time so we know your needs have not changed. Once we know the female is pregnant we begin accepting deposits for a pup from this litter. Our litters are generally spoken for by the time they are born so it is important for the potential new owner to stay in contact with us. We do not overbook and will usually stop accepting deposits at six until we know how many pups are whelped. Our normal litter size is 8-10 pups.

Q: How does the selection process work?

A: When you reserve your puppy we will need to know at that time if you prefer a male or female puppy. If it does not matter that's fine also. We do not operate on a first come - first served basis. We guarantee you will receive a puppy of the sex you have chosen. Together we will identify the best puppy in the litter to meet your needs and expectations.

Q: Are the puppies AKC registered?

A: The litter is AKC registered. Your puppy will come with the AKC Application for Registration that was sent to Mustang Creek Kennels by AKC when we registered the litter. This allows you the privilege of naming the pup.

Q: Do you offer a health guarantee?

A: Absolutely. We take our breeding program very seriously. Please see the Mustang Creek Kennel Sales Contract for details.

Q: Have the puppies had their shots?

A: Yes, they will have visited the veterinarian at least twice by the time you receive your pup. The first visit will be when they are 2-3 days old and will be a general health check up and to dock the tails and remove front dew claws. The second visit at six weeks will be for their first round of vaccinations.

Q: When can we take our new puppy home?

A: We typically start releasing puppies at seven weeks of age if you are picking them up in person. If we are shipping the puppy to you we like for the puppy to be slightly older.
